A quick glance through the job postings on the non-profit mega-web site idealist.org reveals a huge need for grant writers. As a veteran free-lance writer, this phenomenon piqued my interest. Because I like having a roof over my head, I've learned one of the most important things I can do as a free-lancer is to expand my sphere of knowledge, therefore expanding my marketability.
